  • Make safety-conscious decisions while ensuring compliance with all company and federal DOT policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Balance the needs of our customers, our drivers, and the business resulting in a high degree of efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide ongoing direction and leadership to drivers and internal associates to ensure excellent customer service, key factor achievement and associate development.
  • Collaborate with others in the organization to identify and implement creative solutions to improve retention.
  • Address and resolve any operational challenges that may arise, finding creative solutions when necessary.
  • Manage driver payroll, vacation time and home time.
  • Provide direction and leadership to office, terminal or driver associates to ensure superior customer service and associate performance, keeping team members informed, focused, and motivated
  • Establish strong business relationships and maintain open and timely two-way communication with the customer and driver and office associates.
  • Communicate daily with internal customer service, operations, maintenance and safety departments to ensure safe and timely delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with your team of drivers.
  • Communicate and distribute driver dispatches daily.
  • Manage and support drivers through all necessary paperwork through J&M Mobile App and electronic log systems.
  • Work as a team and cross train with Customer Service and Planners.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or transportation experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

We are on the hunt for an experienced Mechanic at our Holly Springs, GA terminal to work 2nd shift. The Mechanic is responsible for repairs and the maintenance of Class-8 diesel powered tractors and tank trailers, both internal and external customers, as well as ensuring the road worthiness of company equipment. We operate late model tractors and trailers! The ideal candidate will have:
  • Maintenance background in the trucking industry.
  • Experience with Kenworth tractors.
  • Experience with Cummins.
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment as required
  • Move trucks and trailers in and out of shop for maintenance
  • Open repair orders and charge the appropriate parts to the repair order
  • Perform tire inspections/appropriate paperwork to company standards
  • Perform shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned
