Training Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Training & Safety Manager at our corporate office in Birmingham, AL.

J&M Tank Lines is looking for a motivated, self-starter, with a passion for teaching and forming relationships. The Training & Safety Manager is responsible for on boarding and cultivating strong relationships between new employees and the company. this role will be the first experience new employees have with the company and will be responsible for executing orientation cirriculum. Reporting to the Vice President of Safety & Compliance, the Training & Safety Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management of orientation, creating and adjusting cirriculum to fit employee needs and representing the company and its brand.

Pay

• $60,000-$70,000 per year

Core Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and manage daily/weekly orientation classes for new hires.
• Serve as a liaison for new hires during their time in orientation.
• Communicate with other departments on individual’s needs.
• Execute orientation curriculum in a timely and effective fashion.
• Provide hands on training for professional drivers, demonstrating how to effectively and safely load/unload material.
• Developing continuing education for Driver Trainees, shop personnel & office staff.
• Assist with content for and maintaining company website.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Classroom instruction experience, preferred
• Comfortable with technology and applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent writtem, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with the Smith System driving principles & OSHA regulations, preferred.
• Trucking or Transportation experience encouraged to apply.
